Description
Inventories and appraisements of decendents' estates. Information includes decedent's name and address; estate filing number and date filed; itemized list of estate property; appraised value and date of appraisal; and oath and signature of appraisers (and sometimes authorized witness). Printed forms appear in 1866.
Note 1: Vendues (estate items sold at public auction) often have a more itemized inventory. Sometimes filed with Estate Inventories.
Note 2: 1962 to present Estate Inventories are filed with Estate Records.
Arrangement: Alphabetical groupings by surname of decedent. Each alphabet is in a numerical order starting with #1 and appear to correspond chronologically with filing date.
Index: Artificial index arranged alphabetical by surname of decedent.
