Description
Prior to Adoptions being the responsibility of the Clerk of the Orphans' Court in 1925 July, adoptions were confirmed by the Prothonotary's Office, recorded in the Prothonotary's Appearance Dockets, and case papers filed in the Apperance Docket Case Papers. Information usually includes name of person to be adopted, the names of the original and adopting parent(s), petition and court confirmation date.
