The artist(s) is/are most likely among the Cuban detainees who occupied the Old Prison from December 1985 until August 1986 when the Federal government leased the facility to conduct an assimilation program for a selected number of the "Mariel Boat Refugees".
Description: Nine cerulean blue, white, and black paintings on double hung glass cell windows resembling stained-glass due to their segmented design. Subject matter reflects a South American (probably Cuban) landscapes. Some paintings are signed "Cruz". Total window dimensions: 27 inches high X 2 feet wide. All paintings do not cover the entire windows.
