Description
Record of county and state costs on cases tried in Court of the Quarter Sessions. Information on pre-printed forms slightly changes over time, but mainly includes court year, term, and case number; names of parties, judge, and witnesses; charge (whether by a Grand Jury True Bill); verdict; an itemized list of costs, remarks (including court sessions a case continued to); and whether received taxed costs often with certification date. Supplemental papers may be attached to the costs form.
Note 1: This series continues as Costs & Criminal Dockets 1976-1993 (No. 1-103) and after 1993 was computerized.
Arrangement: Chronological by court year/term and then sequential by case number.
Case numbers not on forms for Cost Dockets No. 1-9.
Index: Alphabetical groupings by surname of defendant as entered within the court year and term.
