Description
Settlement accounting statements of tax collectors mainly for 1791 taxes. Information includes name of tax collector and municipality; deficiences requested with name of tax payer and amount due (sometimes with type of tax); oath of tax collector regarding information provided, oath date, tax collector signature, and official witness of oath; and settlement date. Some settlement papers include notations for funds credited or paid to tax collectors on deficiences and unseated lands information. Note 1: Some settlement papers are for years previous to 1791 (1782, 1788, and 1790).
Arrangement: Chronological by tax year being settled and therein alphabetical by municipality.
