Description
Papers relating to the elections of Federal, State, and County offices. Papers vary for each election and most often include Election Returns, Talley Sheets, and Oaths of Election Officers for county-wide and/or individual voting districts. Certification of Results, Certificates of Election, Voter Lists, Duplicate and Triplicate Returns are also present for some elections. Note 1: Centralized into a Clerk of the Court series in 1978, some of the papers were processed and/or filed in other offices, especially the Offices of the Prothonotary and Commissioners. Note 2: Voter Lists for 1874 and 1893 are listed in a 1978 series titled "Voter Lists". Note 3: Many election papers are located at the PA State Archives.
